Export Questions and Question Topics

Step-by-step instructions on how to export a question or a question topic

You can export a topic to biz:Examiner format file if required. In each topic, you can export one or more questions in the biz:Examiner format file. In either case, you can import these files to any topic, anytime.

Locate the target topic or question

  1. Sign in to biz:Examiner.
  2. Switch into the ‘author’ role using the role-switcher in the top right corner of the screen.

The roles depend on your subscription plan for biz:Examiner. There are cases when you may not see this option to switch to different roles and you directly see the author role for the authoring environment. If you have more questions, please contact us (at:), or contact your account administrator.

  1. In the sidebar, the ‘Questions’ option is selected by default.
  2. The list of topics appears in a hierarchical structure, as the folders.

You cannot see the option to export a topic if even one of its internal topics is protected. Please see ‘Protect and unprotect a topic’ for details.

For the exported topic or the question, the file has an extension *.exz. The file is saved on your local machine. The file name contains the timestamp of the export action, in the UTC timezone. For example, “examiner_export_1601879110.5163.exz”.

Note: For protected topics:

  • A parent topic cannot be exported if it has any protected sub-topics.
  • Only the author who protected it can see and export a protected topic
