Edit a question for cut, copy, paste

When you have multiple questions, you can copy or move a question around in the list of topics, anywhere. You can also create a duplicate question, and then change the question details in the duplicate copy for question text, answers, or its settings.

This is useful when you want to add similar types of questions in the same topic or in another topic, particularly the questions with custom and advanced settings, but with minor edits. If you copy the question, you can edit the question text or its answers or settings in the copied instance, to use it as a new and unique question.

A protected topic does not show the option to paste a question inside. Please see ‘Protect and unprotect a topic’, for more details.

Find the question location

  2. Switch into the ‘author’ role using the role-switcher in the top left corner of the screen. In the sidebar, the “Questions” option is selected by default.

  4. Locate the target question.

You can select multiple questions to cut or copy these before you paste these to another location, or to create a duplicate of multiple questions. Use the ‘SHIFT’ key to select a range of questions or ‘Cmd’ key to select random questions.
