Deactivate or Reactivate Questions
Summary
In the list of topics where you have one or more questions, you can mark these as inactive. You can also reactivate an deactivated question, anytime.
Consider an example that a question is saved and activated and its revision is available for an exam. If you want this question to not be available in the exam for any reason, you can deactivate it. To make it available again for the exam, you can reactivate it anytime.
Find the question location
- Sign in to biz:Examiner.
- Switch into the ‘author’ role using the role-switcher in the top left corner of the screen. In the sidebar, the “Questions” option is selected by default.
- The list of topics is shown in a hierarchical structure, as the folders.
- Locate the target question.
Deactivate a question
- Click on the context-menu icon that is available immediately to the right side of this question name. A few options appear in the context menu for actions or tasks for this question.
- Select ‘Deactivate question’.
- The question is deactivated now and it is as marked with a red color symbol.
When you create an exam, this question is not available in the question source even if you select the entire topic and all the questions in this topic, in the question source settings.
Reactivate a question
- Click on the context-menu icon that is available immediately to the right side of this question name. A few options appear in the context menu for actions or tasks for this question.
- Select ‘Reactivate question’.
- The question is reactivated now.

If you use the cut, copy, or duplicate actions for an Deactivated question, the new question that is copy-pasted or a duplicate question is also deactivated.
