Exam structure
This article describes how you can set up the structure of an exam, in your biz:Examiner authoring environment.
There are different options for how you can create a new exam. In either option, the ‘Exam structure’ is one of the steps to define the structure of the exam. Please see Create a new exam to get started with creating an exam.
The ‘Exam structure’ details
You can structure an exam module in blocks and question groups. The blocks and question groups enable you to set up and configure the basic and advanced settings for different types of questions, for your exams’ goals, and for the participants’ experience.
For example, you can set up different groups of questions within the same block or in different groups and then custom-define the settings and advanced configuration for the rules and behavior of the questions groups for the exams’ goals, or for how participants see and respond to specific sets of questions.
Creating and managing blocks
Blocks act as containers of multiple questions or groups of questions and you can configure each block with different settings for the exam. In example each block has its own welcome message, timer settings etc.
In the ‘Exam Structure’ tab, one block is shown by default. In the block, you can see the following options and actions.
- Set up block settings: Please see Setup and configure block settings for details.
- Question groups: One or more question groups per block are mandatory. Questions can be bundled into question groups. This can have a setting reason but question groups can also be used to visualize question groups to the participants. Question group title is optional. If the question group title is set, the related questions will be shown to the participants as a group with this title. Please see Add new question group for more details on the question group settings.
- Configure question source: One or more question sources per question group are mandatory. With the question sources you define from which question topics in which way the questions should be selected for this exam module.
Please see Setup and configure question sources for more details.
